She began her career as a special education teacher after earning her master’s degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. But long before that, Ellie was already a storyteller—she still remembers penning her first “novel” in first grade, a riveting tale about her cat having babies.

Ellie is a proud University of Michigan sports fan, though her favorite team is always the one her kids are playing on.
