About Ellie
She began her career as a special education teacher after earning her master’s degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. But long before that, Ellie was already a storyteller—she still remembers penning her first “novel” in first grade, a riveting tale about her cat having babies.
Drawn to love stories that take readers on an emotional rollercoaster before delivering a well-earned happily ever after, Ellie published her debut novel in 2013. Two years and four books later, she retired from teaching after 15 years to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time author. Since then, she’s become a bestselling writer whose books are beloved for their mix of angst, heart, and passion.
Ellie is a proud University of Michigan sports fan, though her favorite team is always the one her kids are playing on. She adores the beauty of her home state—especially its lakes and vibrant autumns—and could happily live off gummy bears, Mexican food, and coffee. When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her reading, spending time with her kids, snuggled up with her dogs watching Friends or Gilmore Girls for the hundredth time, or traveling and exploring new places with her family.
